Povides toys for 3+ children and workbooks for 1 classroom.
- D.A.R.E. SILVER:
Provides toys for 1-3 children and workbooks for 24 children
QUICK FACTS:
● D.A.R.E. is a privately funded program.
● D.A.R.E. America, a federally registered 501(c) 3, provides a science and research based curriculum to highly trained police officers while supporting the funding for D.A.R.E. student educational materials and D.A.R.E. instructor training.
● D.A.R.E. is taught in thousands of schools in communities throughout the 50 states, as well as 50 plus countries worldwide.
● More than 2 Million kids go through the d.a.r.e. Program each year.
● D.A.R.E. is the most affordable program available at $12 per child for all education materials.
● Helps children resist experimenting with drugs or becoming involved in gangs or violent activities.
● D.A.R.E. trains approximately 1,000 new D.A.R.E. officers annually, each officer has 80 hours of specific training.
● D.A.R.E. humanizes police and opens a dialogue between schools, police, and parents to deal with other issues.
● D.A.R.E. America continues to develop new enhanced lessons with topics ranging from gangs and bullying to teen prescription drug abuse and internet safety.
Dear D.A.R.E. Supporter: On behalf of children and police officers across the United States I want to thank you for your support. Although our program is a federally registered 501(c)(3), that places uniformed police officers in classrooms to provide life-saving information and teach decision making skills to young people regarding issues ranging from drugs and gangs to internet safety and bullying, we receive no Government funding. Since 1983, millions of U.S. children in all 50 states have benefited from the D.A.R.E. program as well as children in 47 foreign countries. We are currently working with retail locations across the United States in support of our D.A.R.E. to Kare Community Program.
D.A.R.E. Toy Program- After shopping and outside of a retail location, customers are provided the opportunity to make a donation to D.A.R.E. America. If a donation is provided then the donor may choose to accept a toy or have the toy donated to a local charity. Donated toys are given to local children’s hospitals, other children’s charities and/or homeless shelters. As an example, toys donated in Northern California are being donated to the Oakland Children’s Hospital while in Arizona toys are being donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
